Halo Highlight: Sai Poluri
“Halo Highlight” is a series of interviews showcasing our unique and talented team members. This week, we sat down with Automation Engineer Sai Poluri to learn more about his role, his favorite part about working at Halo, and what he’d do if he won the lottery.
Tell us a little more about your role.
As an Automation Engineer, I ensure the quality of our application by developing, executing, and maintaining web and mobile (Android and iOS) automated tests. My role also requires maintaining and developing the Halo Automation Dashboard, which is the centralized web app used in the simplifying the process by running and storing automated test results. We implement parallel testing of various mobile devices which helps for broader test coverage. While my primary focus is automation, I also support feature testing and releases.
What is the best part about your role?
I’ve always wanted to build something that assists my team and works even during my absence. My role at Halo is to reduce the manual efforts and automate tests to identify any defects that may be overlooked by the human eye. The tests are executed overnight, and the results are triaged and reported the next day. These tests cover a variety of mobile devices and web browsers. I contribute toward saving time and effort for our QA process, as I implement various automation strategies and ideas approved during our team discussions.
What’s your favorite part about working at Halo?
At Halo, we strive toward releasing exciting new features for our clients by ensuring the quality of the application and simplifying the communication processes in hospitals and thereby focusing more on saving lives. We have a talented and passionate group of individuals who work toward the company’s mission. Halo’s culture brings in a lot of positivity, and we have a lot of fun working here. The best part of Halo is that we all have a desire to better and implement the latest technologies in our applications.
What might other team members be surprised to know about you?
I’m a sports enthusiast – I love anything from bowling to tennis. Cricket is my favorite game, but I don’t play as much as I used to. My teammates would also be surprised to know that I am vegetarian, and I don’t like shrimp in a vegetable roll.
What is your go-to cup of coffee?
I’m not sure if I have a “go-to,” but I have been wanting to try the new Nitro Coffee from Dunkin’.
If you could take a month to travel anywhere, where would you go?
Alaska – I’ve never been there, and I’d love to see the Northern Lights!
If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you would buy?
I’d like to buy an island and relax in my cruise.
