Halo Highlight: Brooke Ball
“Halo Highlight” is a series of interviews showcasing our unique and talented team members. This week, we sat down with Implementation Project Manager Brooke Ball to learn more about what makes her proud to work at Halo, the company culture, and what’s on her bucket list.
How did you find Halo?
I was previously working as a project manager for another health organization when the company found me. Within a week, I learned more about the company, completed interviews, and ended up at Halo! The overall atmosphere and level of support that the team members had for one another made it feel like a new home for me. As Implementation Project Manager, I work alongside the leadership team to bring in new initiatives for our solution-based implementations.
How would you describe the company culture at Halo?
Halo has a grounded, down-to-earth environment that’s warm and encouraging. I feel blessed to be a part of a close and supportive group. Every day is an adventure with being able to bring my expertise to the role. Nothing has been predetermined for me, and I love that I can build the position around what I can do well. Halo truly recognizes each individual’s strengths and helps us grow beyond professional experience. The company coaches the whole person and sees our development on a much broader level.
If you could switch jobs with anyone at the company, who would it be?
I’d like to switch with Senior Director of Commercial Operations Elizabeth Ramsey because she’s on the forefront of the business and makes it look good. My roles have always been on the backend, and it’d be interesting to see how the Sales team lays out what we’re delivering. I’m intrigued by how they own that customer relationship and build that rapport.
What makes you proud to work at Halo?
I love to see the dedication we have to truly solve customers’ issues. We are truly empowered to make a difference – it’s now just following a process but building a solution to improve the lives of our end users.
What was the last book you read?
Project Management Body of Knowledge, or PMBOK. I’m taking coursework to prepare for the certification. This book shares some tips and tricks for all things project management.
What’s on your bucket list?
Besides wanting to retire on an island and living solely on margaritas, I am trying to embrace each day and be a little better tomorrow than I was today. Skydiving would be amazing, but I guess that’s already on everyone’s bucket list!
If we were to make a movie about you, what genre would it be? Who would play you?
Definite a comedy! In a dream world, I’d like Blake Lively to play me.
If you could learn anything new, what would you like to learn?
I’d love to learn how to fly and become a pilot.
What’s your go-to drink from the coffee machine?
Black, extra strong.
