Jose Barreau, MD | CEO & Co-Founder
Dr. Barreau's passion — to improve patient care through better communication — is the foundation for the Halo clinical communication platform.
Dr. Barreau is Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology. He completed his fellowship in Hematology - Oncology at the University of Cincinnati, and prior to his retirement from active practice he sub-specialized in breast cancer treatment.
In his role as the former director of the TriHealth Cancer Institute in Cincinnati, Dr. Barreau worked to expand the use of multidisciplinary clinics, which would in-turn improve the quality of cancer care through better communication.
With more than 15 years of administrative and clinical experience, Dr. Barreau knows first-hand the need for physicians to communicate securely and quickly with other physicians and nurses. He is a visionary entrepreneur who is adamant about holding firm on the principles that are the basic standards of the Halo platform: quality and reliability of the product, meticulous client service, and a commitment to evolving the product as the industry and technology grows.
Amit K. Gupta, MD | President & Co-Founder
Dr. Gupta shares Dr. Barreau’s passion for understanding and improving healthcare communication, especially among the various providers involved in an individual patient's care.
His philosophy that timely and effective physician-to-physician communication is the key to improving patient outcomes led to the development of Halo, which at its core is designed to put physicians in charge of their communication and establish a new standard for the medical profession.
Dr. Gupta completed his Master's in Clinical Research at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and earned fellowships in Outcomes Research and in Hematology-Oncology at the University of Cincinnati.
Steve Roth | Chief Product Officer
Steve provides strategic leadership and drives operational efficiency within Halo Communications. Specifically, he is responsible for growing the company's capabilities, scale and effectiveness.
Before joining Halo Communications, Steve led the mobile product team at McGraw-Hill Education, where he successfully expanded their mobile offerings across the full product line.
Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Ohio University and an MBA from The Ohio State University.
Jon Jansen | Chief Solutions Architect
Jon coordinates the integration process to connect new user networks to the Halo Communications system. With more than 22 years of experience in the secure healthcare communication arena, Jon can ensure complete product confidence for Halo platform end users.
Jon brings an extensive knowledge base to Halo Communications, especially in the critical area of programming secure interfaces between hospitals, EMRs and physicians' data. He was formerly CEO of the software company Jcom Inc., which specialized in business and medical communication, as well as web-based portals for remote data access.
With an invaluable level of expertise in this complex topic, Jon is an important resource not only for the development of Halo, but also for the healthcare networks and physicians who use the platform.
Jon studied at the University of Cincinnati in the field of Information Systems.
Cathy Conaty | Chief Financial Officer
Cathy Conaty joined Halo Communications in May 2017 as the Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining she was the Vice President of Finance for Putney Inc where she partnered with the Leadership team in driving significant growth prior to their successful exit.
Over the course of her career she has held financial leadership roles with a number of emerging technology and life science companies where she managed operations from start up through product development, commercialization and profitability. Earlier in her career she held financial and operations leadership roles with the Ethicon division of Johnson & Johnson.
Cathy earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA in Management from Bryant University.
Dale Bailey | Vice President Of Customer Care
Dale Bailey comes to Halo Communications from Quest Diagnostics where he most recently served as Director of Implementations for Quest Diagnostic's Enterprise Content Management System. Prior to serving in that role, Dale also held additional leadership positions at Quest Diagnostics overseeing Technical and Customer Support Services, Application Consulting, and Customer Training.
Dale has over 20 years of years of experience in Healthcare and Information Technology for companies including Siemens, Affiliated Computer Services (Xerox), IDX (GE Healthcare), and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Dale holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Eastern Illinois University.
Doug Fuerst | Vice President Of Development
Doug leads Halo Communications' development operations, managing and growing our Product Management, Engineering, QA and DevOps practices as the team continues to deliver enterprise communication technology solutions.
Doug brings nearly 20 years of experience in platform engineering with McGraw-Hill Education. Most recently he served as Director of Platform Engineering, where he leveraged his knowledge in technology and management to develop robust solutions that delivered educational resources to millions of students nationwide.
Doug studied Computer Science at The Ohio State University. He is based in the Halo Communications Columbus office.
Chris Salvatore | Vice President Of National Sales
Chris leads the Sales, Customer Success and Sales Operations teams at Halo Communications. Bringing 15 years of experience in the Medical Technology industry, Chris has held multiple sales and marketing leadership roles with a focus on building high performing teams.
In his role at Halo Communications, he works to expand our brand impact with existing customers while demonstrating the value of the Halo platform to potential clients.
He holds a MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a BS from St. Joseph’s University. Chris, his wife Jen and two daughters live outside of Philadelphia, PA.
Lindsey Daniels | Director Of Human Resources & Talent Acquisition
Leading the Halo Communications HR department, Lindsey is charged with building our growing team. With a passion for developing talent and creating cohesive work-groups, Lindsey is excited to be at the helm as Halo Communications expands.
Lindsey came to Halo Communications from the Cintas Corporation, where she served first as Human Resources Generalist then as the Talent Acquisition Manager for Global Supply Chain.
A University of Cincinnati graduate, she holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and a Master’s in Human Resources, and she has achieved her PHR certification. Lindsey also brings experience leading a different kind of team—she was assistant coach of UC’s Women’s Tennis Team.
Kim Hill | Chief of Staff
Kim joined Halo Communications in 2014 to help provide coordination with the Sales Team. As Chief of Staff, she works directly with all the Halo Communications teams to continually improve internal processes, as well as help with daily operations.
Before joining Halo Communications, Kim spent 20 years at Procter & Gamble and two years at TriHealth in administration. Kim’s expertise is in organizational skills and process improvement.
Corinne Phillips | Director Of Customer Care
Corinne arrived at Halo Communications in 2014 to provide top-notch service to our customers. She works with the Customer Care team and leadership to continually improve our customer support, as well as refine troubleshooting tools and training materials.
Before joining Halo Communications, Corinne spent 14 years as a Helpdesk Technician for Ariva Distribution. She is thrilled to be working with the Halo Communications team and our customers to provide this valuable service that facilitates clinical communication between physicians, nurses and staff.
Corinne received her BA from West Chester University in Pennsylvania.
Elizabeth Ramsey | Senior Director of Commercial Operations
Liz brings to Halo Communications more than seven years of experience in complex healthcare organizations and 10 years in academic and organizational research related to healthcare, crisis and leadership.
Liz’s career path evolved through studying healthcare organizations’ communication, to teaching courses in how people and organizations communicate about health, to managing a large organization’s training program in the clinical documentation space, and now, to directing implementations in the clinical communication space. Enthusiastic about the possibilities presented by technology in creating a better healthcare experience for practitioners and patients, she is excited to be a part of the Halo Communications team.
Liz obtained her BA and MA from the University of Cincinnati and completed her doctorate coursework at Wayne State University.
Brian Sullivan | Chief Design Officer
Brian has been creating interactive user experiences for 20-plus years in multiple industries, and he previously owned a media company. He has supported top-tier high-profile businesses and organizations including Sony, IBM, GE and the United Nations.
Brian earned a B.A. in History and Creative Writing and a M.Ed. in Instructional Design for Media and Technology from the University of Cincinnati.
As a partner in Halo Communications, Brian brings his years of experience at the intersection of technology and the humanities. He sees the Halo platform as a momentous step toward revolutionizing healthcare communication, leading to better patient outcomes. He is excited to add his expertise and vision to the mission of Halo Communications.
